Crossing Roads

Crossing Roads
By Emma Lippincott

I crossed my heart and hoped to die. But I didn't want to die.
As I looked up
I could see lightning striking the city, below.
Off the cliff, I dreamed of gliding.
When I felt I was too close, I backed up.
I looked down at the ground, I could hear thunder roaring.
So I crossed my heart and hoped to die.
I felt my life lighting up.
Then my whole life flashed before my eyes.
I stared into the distance.
I wanted to know why.
That's all I wanted to know.
So I crossed my heart and hoped to die.

  1. I can see what it means by crossing roads. It means she had another life with other people and now she's all alone. well she didn't have 2 lives she had a family at once, now she's all alone.
